Short version: weapons level up as you fight with them, and most cap at level 10. The rusted starting weapons, the Wooden Club and Endu evolve into stronger, magic-capable forms. How weapons work
- 50+ melee weapons to "discover, equip, and upgrade", each with its own moves, a charge attack and often a special (magic) attack. Official
- 20+ types of throwing weapon as your secondary, each with its own charges and recharge. Official
- Weapon levels: weapons level up separately from you. Players report caps of 10 for most, 5 for the temporary Trident, 1 for one unique weapon and 100 for the Pandora Blade. Players
- Special meters: some weapons charge their special over time, others by landing hits or by kills. The meter appears next to the Wind Dash gauge. Players
- Damage types matter. Check enemy weaknesses in the bestiary. Players

How to evolve a weapon
Players describe two ingredients: leveling the weapon to its cap (+10), and Spirit Oil. One player advises waiting until you have about four Spirit Oil, saving first, trying the evolution, and reloading if you don't like the result. A secret sword you can get within minutes of starting. Its room also hides an Easter egg. Players

- At the big tree, throw daggers at the switch to open the door into the ruins.
- Go to the room with the Endu Shrine Gate Key.

- Level it to 10 again.
- Collect all five Wind Gems and the Storm Gem.
- Find the secret Altar of Purification deep in the lowest level of the Deimpo Mausoleum.
Another player lists "spirits" you gather with a mirror from the Record of Sin boss: Chef Gagi, your father the King, the knight from the start, the pirate raider, Erma, Engineer Ossi, Keeper Wourha and Peha. These line up with the NPC quests. Players See NPC quests.

- Azure Torch: an early fireball-casting weapon, found in front of a tower soon after you get Endu. Players say you need it to progress. Its fire damage over time helps against Dagoom. Players Players

- Twisted Heart: its magic slam applies a debuff that raises your damage on a stunned boss. Players
- Vampiric Blade and Wind Rapier: both called "broken" (very strong) by one player. Players

Throwing weapons
Throwables are your answer to the Power Meter: free damage while your melee meter refills. Players name throwing daggers (Dagger Belt), piercing throwing knives, chakrams, needles, a homing throwable and a stone/metal cube that interrupts the Necronomicon's spin. Players Players
