Trident keys, triangle pieces & the Obmuer Temple puzzles

Obmuer Temple, the flooded second area, is where Queen's Domain first expects you to read item descriptions and search every ledge. Players get stuck in four places: the trident keys, the fourth triangle piece, the tiara order and Dagoom.

Short version: the flimsy Trident weapon is itself a key. Level it up until it breaks. You only need three trident keys for the temple's doors, and a spare is sold at the shop after the Tower of Knowledge boss. Players Players

How to break the trident

  1. Find the Trident weapon in Obmuer Temple, at the top of the ramp past the shallows.
  2. Read its description. It says the head seems poorly attached. That's the hint. Players
  3. Use it as your main weapon until it hits its level cap. Players report it caps at level 5 (most weapons cap at 10) because it is a temporary weapon. Players Players
  4. It breaks, and the head becomes a trident key.

Where every trident key comes from

Players disagree about which color (Sapphire, Emerald, Ruby, Amethyst) belongs to which spot. The locations below are where players agree, without colors. Players Players

The trident doors are a puzzle

One door takes three keys. Another pair of doors take two each, and the second of those can also be reached through another gate. Keys go into sockets, so you can take one out and reuse it. Plan which doors to open rather than collecting more keys. Players

There is also a secret door in the bushes on the starting island, to the left of the shortcut behind the well near the tree with three forest eyes. It reportedly needs three tridents, then two more for the next room. Players

The four triangle pieces

All four triangle (slate) pieces are in the stretch between the pirate captain and the temple entrance. They look like part of the floor, which is why so many players miss one. Players

  • On the small skeleton island.
  • In the spot with the glaucoma bugs.

The tiara puzzle (Ceremonial Stone Tiaras)

On the clifftop of the fish-man island in Obmuer Temple (reach it with air dashes), there are four pedestals. Collect the four Ceremonial Stone Tiaras nearby and set them in the right pattern. Players

The door opens toward a hidden boss that drops the Jigeki lens for the Mask of Second Sight once you have the Jigeki key parts. Tablets near the door hint where to look for them. Players Players See Mask of Second Sight.

Boss: Dagoom the Sea King

Dagoom, the "whale boss", is the most complained-about fight of launch week. 34.8% of players have beaten him (2026-11-02). Two patches fixed bugs with his death animation (1.01.02, 1.01.03). Official Official

  • Hit the backs of his legs to knock him down, then pile on damage while he's stunned. Players
  • Jump and air-dash over his area attack and whirlpool. Several players say this is the intended way to avoid them. Players
  • Handle the poison fish. The Splash Hammer from this area has a special that clears a swarm in one use. Chakrams and Endu's sword thrust also work, and two air dashes at full Power Meter can kill a whole swarm. Some players simply ignore them. Players
  • Damage over time works. Fire from the Azure Torch and poison from the evolved Rusted Spear both work well. Players Players
  • Over-prepare if needed. One player reports winning at about level 20 with a few maxed weapons. Others recommend leaving, levelling weapons and stocking healing items first. Players

FAQ

How do you break the trident in Queen's Domain?

Equip the Trident you find in Obmuer Temple and keep using it. Its description says the head is poorly attached; players report it maxes out at weapon level 5 and then breaks, leaving you a trident key.

How many trident keys do I need?

Three is enough for the main doors. The doors are a socket puzzle, so keys are moved between them. A spare key can be bought at the shop after you beat the Tower of Knowledge boss, and players report a fifth from much later in the game for optional rooms.

Where is the 4th triangle piece in Obmuer Temple?

All four pieces are between the pirate captain and the temple entrance. The one most people miss sits on top of the barrier that splits the shallows, just before the ramp up to the Trident; drop onto it from the wall where the lizard perches.

What is the tiara puzzle solution?

Players report the order, left to right: red-white-white, white-red-white, white-white-white, white-red-red. It is on the clifftop of the fish-man island in Obmuer Temple and opens the way to a hidden boss.

How do you beat Dagoom the Sea King?

Hit the backs of his legs to knock him down, jump and air-dash over his area attacks and whirlpool, and clear the poison fish with a sweeping special such as the Splash Hammer's, or with dashes at full Power Meter.
